Narnaund : The Narnaund constituency is witnessing a tough battle between the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). While there is a strong support for BJP's Captain Abhimanyu, INLD's Raj Singh Mor seems to be leading the race.
Dismissing BJP's claims of putting up a good fight in Haryana, Mor termed it to be a party which is busy hatching conspiracies. "It is the Central government's conspiracy that our chief Om Prakash Chautala has been sent behind bars at the age of over 80. They will realise what the people really feel about them when the people vote on October 15," he said adding that people will vote and save democracy.
He also claimed that the electricity problems that the state is facing is because the Central government is drawing excessive amounts of power from the state. "The electricity that should be with the state has to be given to the Centre as per their orders. The Centre is unfair towards the states and is ignorant towards our problems," he said.
Mor has a good support in the area with people saying that he is always available and is very helpful. "Be it someone's death or birth, marriage or any small function, he is always present," said a resident of Narnaund.
The main issues that Mor has in his manifesto in the elections are education for girl child, revamping education policy, building hospitals, getting better medical facilities. "These are the issues that need to be addressed apart from the basic amenities like electricity and water," he said.
He is contesting on a seat that is currently held by his wife Saroj Mor. Over When asked why he is contesting in place of his wife, he said, "It is the high command's order. We are merely following their orders. She also did a good job and now the leadership has decided that I should contest."
Like several other INLD leaders, he too exuded confidence that the party will win the polls with a majority. "We will win the elections with a two-third majority. Dushyant Chautala will be our chief minister," he said.
