16. Gwalior East is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Madhya Pradesh and is part of Gwalior Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Gwalior East falls in Gwalior district and Chambal region of Madhya Pradesh. It is categorised as a urban seat.
There are a total of 2,99,290 voters in the seat, which includes 1,61,986 male voters, and 1,37,289 female voters. In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh elections, Gwalior East recorded a voter turnout of 57.17%. In 2013 the turnout was 54.45%, and in 2008 it was 52.12%.
In 2013, Maya Singh (Mami) of BJP won the seat by a margin of 1,147 votes (0.8%). Maya Singh (Mami) secured 41.81% of the total votes polled.
BJP won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 1,538 votes (1.67%), registering 40.38% of the total votes polled.
