Digvijaya backs RSS claim of supporting Anna
However, Anna Hazare said that he never had any links with the RSS.

New Delhi: Activist Anna Hazare has vehemently denied the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's (RSS) role in his anti-corruption agitation after RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat claimed that the saffron group has spearheaded it.

But Congress General Secretary Digvijaya Singh, who has in the past alleged openly about Anna Hazare and RSS link, said he has been vindicated by Bhagwat's statement.

Reacting to Bhagwat, Anna Hazare, the face of anti-corruption drive, claimed that he never met any RSS worker.

"I did not meet any RSS worker. I don't know on what basis these accusations are being made," said Hazare.

However, Singh said that he has always maintained that Hazare's movement had the support of the RSS.

"I have always held that Anna's and Ramdev's campaign have been planned, engineered by the RSS. I am happy that Mohan Bhagwat accepted this fact. So my stand is vindicated. Whenever I said that Anna's campaign was run by the RSS, Anna always told me that I should go to mental asylum. I don't know whether I should go now or not," said Digvijaya Singh.
