Defiant Mamata says stop anti-Naxal drive
Mamata violates PM's directive that asks ministers not to speak on internal security matters.

New Delhi: Union Railways Minister Mamata Banerjee has asked Home Minister P Chidambaram to stop the offensive against Maoists outright, violating the Prime Minister's directive that asks ministers not to speak on internal security matters.

"Why this joint venture operation is going on under the leadership of CPM Local Communist Committee. And, in the name of joint venture operations, the arms are coming and go to the CPM leaders and ministers. They are looting the arms, they are distributing arms to their party cadets and capturing one after other villages. It is not an operation against the Maoists, it is an operation against the oppressed people," says Mamata.

Chidambram should withdraw operations against the Maoits immediately. It is the CPM 's cadre who are benefitting from such operations. Operation in West Bengal is helping only the CPM cadres to gain inroads into those areas, she says.
