New Delhi: A day after Suresh Kalmadi's aides were arrested for forging an email that justified selection of AM Cars for the Queen's Baton Relay in the run-up to the Commonwealth Games, the government on Tuesday asked each agency and ministry to conduct independent investigations.
Making a suo motto statement in Parliament, Sports Minister MS Gill said that all agencies and ministries concerned will conduct investigations into the allegation of corruption and those found guilty will be given exemplary punishment.
Already reports are rife that CWG Organising Committee Chairman Suresh Kalmadi may also be arrested after his aides TS Darbari and Sanjay Mahendroo were arrested on Monday.
CAG has started auditing all expenditures relating to the CWG and the preliminary report to be submitted by first week of January, 2011, the minister said.
The CVC, CBI and the IT were also investigating the alleged irregularities
