Cong wants quality seats in alliance with TMC
Mamata Banerjee and Pranab Mukherjee will hold another meeting to finalise seat sharing.

New Delhi: The Congress and the Trinamool Congress (TMC) wrapped up a round of seat sharing talks in the capital on Sunday. After the meeting, the Congress said it is hopeful of sorting out the issue.

TMC Chief Mamata Banerjee and Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee will hold another meeting to finalise seat sharing.

TMC leader Mukul Roy said, "We have realised that it is important to end the Left rule in West Bengal. A final meeting will happen between Mamata Banerjee and Pranab Mukherjee to finalise the seat sharing."

Sources told CNN-IBN that the Congress wants not just 98 seats, but wants these to be the winnable ones. The sources said the Congress may be willing to compromise on the number of seats but not the quality.

AICC in-charge of West Bengal Shakeel Ahmed said, "Initial round of talks are over and we are confident that we will be able to allow the seat sharing arrangement and the alliance will continue to unseat Left Front Government in West Bengal."

Mamata wants to come out with her list of candidates by Monday as the Left Front is likely to release its list on Sunday.
