After RBI Guv, Subramanian Swamy Seeks Chief Economic Adviser's Removal

New Delhi: After a vitriolic campaign against RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy on Wednesday demanded immediate removal of Chief Economic Adviser (CEA) Arvind Subramanian for encouraging Congress to become rigid on the GST clauses.

Swamy took to microblogging site Twitter to slam the CEA and urged the government to look into the matter seriously.

His tweet reads, "Guess who encouraged Congi to become rigid on GST clauses? Jaitely's economic adviser Arvind Subramanian of Washington DC."

He further tweeted, "Who said to US Cong on 13/3/13 the US should act against India to defend US Pharmaceuticals interests? Arvind Subramanian MoF!! Sack him !!"

The BJP MP will be taking his complaint against Arvind Subramanian to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "Arvind Subramanian used to work for the US. He must be having a green card. He said to US Congress that US should act against India to defend US Pharmaceuticals interests," he alleged.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh condemned Swamy's remark on CEA. He tweeted, "Is Modi handing over Finance Ministry to Subramaniam Swami?"

"Subramaniam Swami now guns for Arvind Subramanian Economic Advisor to NDA. Target is Arun Jaitley not Arvind Subramanian," his another tweet reads.

Recently, putting an end to all speculation, RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan denied a second term as the head of the central bank. He told his colleagues that he will be returning to academics after his term ends on September 4.

Many felt that Rajan took the decision following Swamy's campaign against him who questioned his integrity and competence.

Swamy accused Rajan of an apparently deliberate attempt to wreck the Indian economy and now he he trained his guns on India's CEA.
