Humans of Bombay founder Karishma Mehta has been making headlines after the copyright infringement case controversy. As people continue to troll her on social media, an old video which has gone viral features Karishma talking about her organisation. In the video, the founder can be seen elaborating on how the idea of HOB came completely ‘out of blue’ and it just clicked for her. “Completely randomly and out of the blue, I stumbled upon the idea of Humans of Bombay and I started it. And it clicked. That period was a high of its own to start something new,” she says.

Karishma is now being trolled after Humans of New York founder Brandon Stanton took to ‘X’ and accused her of copying his idea of HONY. Also, he criticised the company for filing a lawsuit against another storytelling platform.

Here, have a look at the viral video:

Since being uploaded, it has gathered over 132K views. “randomly out of the blue I think about making kids characters, one would be a mouse and the other a duck … maybe call it’s Dickey and Monald,” commented an ‘X’ user. Another person wrote, “And the concept and the name turned out to be an exact replica of Humans of New York…damn! What a delicious coincidence.”

This is not the first time that Karishma is being trolled on social media. Earlier, a video that went viral showed her talking about her ‘privilege’. In the video, the founder can be seen talking about how many people don’t know her journey and still troll her. She talks about how she has heard the word ‘privilege’ attached to her fairly often. She says, “I am privileged..in the sense that I come from a family that sent me abroad to study, that invested a lot in my education.” She also explained how she started Humans of Bombay with a loan worth Rs 1 Lakh. The thought did not go that well with people on Twitter and soon she became the target of trollers.
