Home Minister Amit Shah Redefines National Security With His Unique Vision
Home Minister Amit Shah's vision is clear: a secure nation is not just one that is safe, but one that is capable of sustaining its people and preserving its resources for generations to come

Home Minister Amit Shah is redefining contours of national security with a visionary approach that transcends conventional boundaries. His strategy is not confined to policing and internal-external threats, but extends to ensuring sustainability and prosperity of farmers. His initiatives reflect a comprehensive approach towards national security through ensuring health of the land, food security, promoting organic cultivation and maintaining ecological balance.

Under his stewardship, the Ministry of Cooperation has not only been nurturing the cooperative movement, but is also seeding a revolution in organic farming. On Wednesday, Shah launched the ‘Bharat Organics’ brand by National Cooperative Organics Ltd (NCOL) as part of this vision. Organic products under this brand such as lentils and organic rice will be sold through Mother Dairy outlets and online platforms. Striking a balance between mass farming and organic farming underlines the Prime Minister Narendra Modi government’s strategy to foster a sustainable and prosperous agricultural sector. Shah has often emphasised the critical role that cooperative societies can play in this, thus elevating small and marginal farmers. NCOL has been established as a national-level multi-state cooperative society to make India a global leader in organic products. It provides support in procurement, certification, testing, branding and marketing of organic products. Shah has asserted that over two crore farmers will be involved in organic farming before 2027 in the country.

Shah had earlier called for a new Green Revolution that focuses on natural farming, enhancing per-acre yields and preserving soil health. Shah has been a proponent of nano-urea, which promises to be a game-changer in the way Indian farmers operate. Nano Urea uses nanotechnology to provide higher nutrient efficiency for crops, and enhancing productivity by up to 8%. Shah has also often stressed the need to provide farmers with quality seeds, and it has been under his auspices that the Cooperatives Ministry has launched a national seed cooperative.

Shah has also been at the forefront of one of the biggest afforestation drives in the country. Under his stewardship the Central Police Forces have been engaged in in the All-India Tree Plantation Campaign that has so far managed to plant four crore trees across the country. The selection of trees for the campaign has been meticulous, with focus on species that provide maximum oxygen and have long lifespans. This thoughtful approach shows how environmental benefits of this campaign will be felt for generations to come. Shah has often emphasised that over and above ensuring internal security, these trees would be the legacy that CAPFs will leave for future generations.

In addition to these efforts, Shah has been sustained in his campaign against single-use plastics. The Home Ministry had earlier urged states to discourage use of plastic flags during important national, cultural and sports events.

Shah’s vision is clear: a secure nation is not just one that is safe, but one that is capable of sustaining its people and preserving its resources for generations to come. It is a forward-looking strategy that integrates environmental conservation and well-being of future generations into the core definition of what it means to protect a nation. This holistic view is not only innovative, but also essential for the long-term resilience and prosperity of India.
