Manu Kumar Jain, former Xiaomi VP and co-founder of Jabong, has joined a new Abu Dhabi-based AI company called G42 as its India CEO.
Taking it to X (formerly Twitter), Manu Kumar Jain announced, “I am delighted to announce that I am joining G42, a leading global AI company, to kickstart a new AI business in India! Together, we will innovate, disrupt, and drive forward the frontiers of Artificial Intelligence.”
He also acknowledged that AI, at large, is going to play a major role in shaping India’s tech landscape, and that the possibilities with AI are limitless.

Notably, Jain exited Xiaomi as its global VP around eight months ago. During his almost decade-long stint with the Chinese mobile technology giant, Jain spearheaded the company’s operations in India and helped the company expand in the nation. “Change is the only constant in life! For the last 9 years, I’ve been lucky to have received so much love that it makes this goodbye so difficult. Thank you all. The end of a journey also marks the beginning of a new one, full of exciting opportunities. Hello to a new adventure!,” Jain had posted on X.
It remains to be seen what G42 accomplishes in India and overseas with Jain as its India CEO, but the company, on its website, claims that it is into AI research and recently collaborated with Microsoft (who happens to back ChatGPT creator OpenAI) to “unlock new opportunities for digital transformation.”
