The Commonwealth Games 2022 will finally kickstart from July 28. The festivities will begin with the opening ceremony on July 28 and will run till August 8. As a slew of athletic events will take place over a span of eleven days, the quadrennial event will serve as a magnetic spectacle for sports fans from all over the world.
With a huge 205-member contingent that will compete in 15 different sports, India will be a major medal contender for gold across the board in the mega multi-sport event.
Olympic javelin champion Neeraj Chopra was India’s best bet for a gold medal. But the star athlete has been forced to miss out due to a groin injury after winning a silver medal at the Athletics World Championships in Oregon earlier this month.
