Malaika Arora’s mother Joyce Polycarp rang in her 71st birthday on March 2. Among the multiple greetings she woke up to this morning, the most special wish came from her daughter. The Bollywood actress who is also a judge in the dance-based reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 11 dropped a carousel of pictures with Joyce Polycarp on social media, celebrating her mother’s special day. Some of the snaps even featured her father Anil Arora who separated from his wife when Malaika was just 11 years old. The happy clicks perfectly captured Malaika’s love for her family and some precious moments spent with them.

“Our mama, our ammama, you are simply the best. Happy Birthday, mothership. Love you,” wrote Malaika Arora on Instagram. In the first snap, the actress was seen sharing the same frame with her mother, father, and sister Amrita Arora. While she leaned on her father’s shoulders affectionately, her mother watched the father-daughter duo with a smile on her face. Amrita posed for the click with a pout and victory hand gesture. In the second slide, Joyce Polycarp enjoyed a scooter ride with Malaika’s son Arhaan Khan when he was a youngster.

Some throwback photographs of Malaika and Amrita Arora with their mother also appeared in the heartwarming post. In one recent picture, the trio twinned in white ethnic ensembles at a park. The photographs serve as proof of Malaika’s equation with her family. The last slide captured the actress decked up in a saree and posing alongside her parents and sister.

Earlier, in an interaction with Grazia magazine, Malaika Arora opened up about undergoing a “tumultuous” childhood following her parents’ divorce. “My parents’ separation allowed me to observe my mother through a new and unique lens,” she said before adding that her mum inspired her to be financially independent and live life on her terms.
