Rohit Shetty has begun shooting for the latest instalment in his cop-verse, Singham Again. This is the third film in the Singham franchise and will see Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor Khan reprising their roles as Singham and Avni. However, Rohit Shetty announced that the cast will also include other characters from the copverse, played by Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Tiger Shroff. Latest reports now claim that the film’s storyline is based on Ramayana.
A Pinkvilla report claims that the story has taken references from the epic. The report claims that while Ajay will be playing Ram, Ranveer’s character will be inspired by Hanuman. The report also surfaced on Reddit, where netizens flooded the comments section with their hot takes.

One person speculated, “So Ajay transferred to some small town because he upset someone at the top… Kareena goes too, where she got kidnapped. Then obviously everyone will play some role to get her back…” Another added, “Kareena is Sita ji.” One person wrote, “Who is Sita? Looks like Arjun Kapoor is Ravan.”
One person commented, “Curious to see if all of them together can beat Pathaan, Jawan or Tiger 3 opening numbers.” Another added, “And Akshay is his (Ajay’s) Lakshman?” One person commented, “Now I get why Ranveer Singh’s poster has Hanuman ji’s pic in it.”
Meanwhile, Rohit Shetty had said in an earlier interview, “We are very excited for Singham Again because the script has turned out really well. It is larger than life. We took it to a different level in Sooryavanshi and this is like 10 times bigger than Sooryavanshi. The kind of scripting that has happened and the kind of story it is… it’s something.”
“Like when I narrated it to Ranveer, he had goosebumps. The story gives you a high. I get excited about a film very rarely and Singham Again is that one script after so many years which I am excited to start the film,” he added.
Singham Again is currently scheduled to be released in theatres on August 15, 2024.
