Sam Bahadur: Vicky Kaushal's Dad Sham Gets Emotional As He Reviews His Film, Says 'Feeling So Humbled'

Vicky Kaushal’s highly anticipated film Sam Bahadur is all set to release on Friday. Helmed by Meghna Gulzar, Sam Bahadur is based on the life of India’s first Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. Yesterday, the makers held a star studded screening of the film. Vicky’s entire family was a part of the same. His wife Katrina also attended the same.

Now, Vicky’s father Sham Kaushal took to his social media handle to cheer for his son and also reviewed the film. Sharing a glimpse of the film, he wrote, “By God’s grace yesterday saw Vicky Puttar’s film SamBahadur. Feeling so humbled, blessed & proud. A must watch film about the first Field Marshal of India. A inspirational story of grit, determination & intelligence. Outstanding direction & performances. Earlier in the day, Vicky’s brother Sunny also praised the film in a long note. Sunny Kaushal called Sam Bahadur an “amazing” film and thanked Meghna Gulzar for making it. “What a film..what an amazing film this is..@rsvpmovies @meghnagulzar thank you so much for making Sam Bahadur.. it is truly remarkable how you have so beautifully managed to show the life, the character, the love this man had for his country and uniform in a span of 2.5 hours.. it made me laugh, cry, inspired and most importantly it made me realise what great courage and character means,” he wrote.

Sunny further appreciated Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh saying their performances in the movie are “fantastic”. He then talked about his brother and went on to say that Vicky has outdone himself in this film. “@vickykaushal09 Just when I think you’ve outdone yourself, you surprise me yet again..I know you manifested this film and now I can see why.. I think this film chose you..I don’t think anybody could’ve played Sam better…you’ve given you heart and soul and everything in between to portray the life of a man which was so valiantly lived,” he wrote. Sunny further mentioned that he is “so so proud” of his brother Vicky.

Vicky Kaushal starrer Sam Bahadur is based on the life of India’s first Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. His career in the army spanned over four decades and five wars. He was the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of Field Marshal and his military victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak war led to the creation of Bangladesh.

Besides Vicky, Sam Bahadur also stars Neeraj Kabi, Edward Sonnenblick (as Lord Mountbatten), Richard Bhakti Klein (as Ambassador Keating), Saqib Ayub (Captain Attiqur Rahman) and Krishna Kant Singh Bundela (as Subedar Gurbaksh Singh) in key roles. It also features Fatima Sana Shaikh as former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and Sanya Malhotra as Sam’s love interest.
