Sorabh Pant, a versatile entertainer, is known for his roles as a stand-up comedian, author, YouTuber, former television writer, and the founder of the comedy company, East India Comedy. With an extensive career spanning over 2000 shows in 100 cities worldwide, he has also taken the stage at more than 400 corporate events and headlined numerous college performances. In addition to his comedy career, Sorabh Pant has authored several novels. He was born on September 14, 1981.

Career:
Sorabh Pant embarked on his career in the entertainment industry as a television writer. In March 2008, he crossed paths with Vir Das, leading to their collaborative show titled “News on The Loose" on CNBC-TV18. It was during this time that Pant’s journey in comedy began to gain momentum. He started as the opening act for Vir Das’s show, “Walking on Broken Das," later in the same year. Following three and a half years of working alongside Vir Das, Sorabh Pant ventured into the world of solo comedy performances, marking his debut solo act at HQ.
November 2009 was a significant milestone for Pant as he became one of only three Indian comedians to grace auditoriums with his solo show, aptly titled “Pant on Fire." Additionally, he made an appearance in “F.A.Q." on Pogo.
In July 2011, when Wayne Brady embarked on his tour in India, Sorabh Pant was chosen as the opening act. Later, in November 2011, Pant had the privilege of opening for the renowned American actor and comedian Rob Schneider during his India tour.
Expanding his creative horizons, Pant ventured into the world of literature, releasing his debut novel, “The Wednesday Soul," in December 2011.
In 2012, Sorabh Pant took a significant step in his comedy career, founding The East India Comedy. Over the following year, he recruited a talented ensemble of comedians, including Kunal Rao, Sapan Verma, Sahil Shah, Atul Khatri, Azeem Banatwalla, and Angad Singh Ranyal. However, it’s worth noting that both Pant and Khatri are no longer associated with EIC.

The East India Comedy made its mark with an impressive 130 shows held across the country in 2013, showcasing specials like “Men Are From Bars" and “Comedy News Network."
Adding another dimension to his career, Sorabh Pant ventured into the world of online streaming, with two comedy specials available on Amazon Prime Video – “My Baby Thinks I’m Funny" and “Make India Great Again."
