Adele Postpones Las Vegas Residency Show Dates To ‘Rest’ Voice: ‘I Have No Choice’
“I hadn’t quite gotten the chance to get back to full health before shows resumed and now I’m sick again,” said Adele in her post.

In her latest announcement, the singer-songwriter Adele revealed that she had to postpone her highly anticipated Las Vegas residency, “Weekends with Adele,” citing health concerns affecting her vocal cords. On Tuesday evening, the Grammy-winning singer took to her Instagram handle and announced the news.

“Sadly I have to take a beat and pause by Vegas residency. I was sick at the end of the last leg and all the way through my break,” she wrote.

She continued, “I hadn’t quite gotten the chance to get back to full health before shows resumed and now I’m sick again, and unfortunately it’s all taken a toll on my voice. And so on Doctors orders I have no choice but to rest thoroughly.”

Adele finally added, “The remaining 5 weekends of this leg are being postponed to a later date.” Before ending the post, she mentioned her team is already working out the details and fans will soon be informed about the details.

In her post’s caption, Adele said, “I love you, I’ll miss you like mad and I’m sorry for the inconvenience.”

This isn’t the first time Adele has faced setbacks with her Las Vegas residency. Initially slated to start in January 2022, the show was postponed due to production delays and team members contracting COVID-19. Adele expressed her disappointment on social media, explaining that half of her crew was affected by the virus, making it impossible to proceed with the show as planned. “I can’t give you what I have right now, and I’m gutted. I’m gutted, and I’m sorry it’s so last-minute,” she had said.

Despite the challenges, the residency eventually commenced in November 2022, running until March 2023. Adele later announced another leg from June to November 2023 and added 32 new dates for 2024.

During her recent ‘Weekends With Adele’ show in Las Vegas, the 35-year-old singer candidly shared with the audience that her lack of sleep had affected her ability to hit certain notes. According to Female First UK, she humorously likened her vocal technique to that of Ursula from The Little Mermaid.

Adele jokingly admitted, “I’m sure you can hear it in my talking voice and my singing voice. Your girl was tired. I didn’t sleep very well. And Ursula from the ocean has come from my chest tonight. I can’t hit my headnotes properly. I didn’t sleep very well and my chest is on fire. Straight after this show I am going on voice rest.”
