Recently, Kannada actor Duniya Vijay’s daughter Monica Vijay changed her name just before her debut film. Duniya Vijay has three children, two daughters and a son; Samrat Vijay, Monica And Monisha.
Both the daughters are active on social media which is confusing as they share a similar name. Monica once stated that there was confusion for everyone including family members. “Everyone is so confused about who is Monica and who is Monisha. So I wanted to change my name for a unique identity,” she said. Monica has changed her name to Rithnya Vijay as reflected on her Instagram profile.
Monica shared that her father Duniya Vijay used to call her Monisha and her sister Monica. To avoid this confusion, she changed her name. She also stated that there was nothing serious behind the name change.
Duniya Vijay recently confirmed that he will be sharing the screen with his elder daughter Monica Vijay, who will be making her debut in the film industry. The yet-untitled project, directed by Jadesh K Hampi, who is known for his work in Guru Shishyaru, promises to be a great cinematic experience.
In an interview, Duniya Vijay expressed his excitement about fulfilling one of his dreams as a father- seeing his daughter Monica make her debut in the film. Talking about their roles in the film, he revealed that it will be a wholesome family drama in which he will be playing the role of Monica’s father.
Duniya Vijay earlier expressed his confidence in Monica’s acting skills and praised her for being a good actress. He stressed that he has been actively involved in developing her skills, citing her experience in theatre and familiarity with the nuances of the industry. Vijay maintained a professional attitude and stressed the importance of discipline on the sets. He will be her co-actor and expects professionalism at all times.
