The interim budget for 2024-25 was announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on February 1 at 11 am. Amid all this, it becomes necessary to recall the times when rising inflation, tomato prices hike to be specific, led many stars including Suniel Shetty to address the issue. The actor was candid enough to express how he was dealing with the rising prices of tomatoes. Addressing the inflation and tomato prices hike, Suniel Shetty, said in an interview with Aaj Tak: “We believe in eating fresh produce, so my wife Mana only buys vegetables for a day or two. The price of tomatoes has skyrocketed and it has affected us as well.” He even highlighted the difference between the prices of tomatoes in markets and apps saying, “If you look at the prices on these apps, you will be shocked, they’re much cheaper than getting tomatoes from markets. I order from apps because they sell fresh produce. They even tell you where the vegetables were grown and how farmers benefit.”
Speaking further, the actor added that he has always been bargaining as he is also a hotelier, while also emphasising the fact that inflation affects the quality of food and he has no choice but to compromise on taste now.
Suniel Shetty’s last appearance was in the OTT film Operation Fryday. The film is currently streaming on Zee 5. He is currently working on his upcoming projects titled Welcome to the Jungle and Hera Pheri 3. While Welcome to the Jungle is directed by Ahmed Khan, Farhad Samji has come on board to helm Hera Pheri 3.
Needless to mention, Nirmala Sitharaman will be presenting the Union Budget for the sixth time. Since the Lok Sabha elections are around the corner, she will be presenting the interim budget. The full-fledged budget will be presented by the new government after the election results are out. Budget 2024 is being broadcast on DD News and Press Information Bureau’s YouTube Channel.
