When Rajesh Khanna Scolded Wife Dimple Kapadia For Offering Him THIS Suggestion: ‘Ab Tum Mujhe Sikhayogi?’
Dimple Kapadia had revealed that during the making of Jai Shiv Shankar, the only film she did with Rajesh Khanna, he had scolded her for offering a suggestion.

Rajesh Khanna, the heartthrob of his time, was once in a serious relationship with actress Anju Mahendru. But after their split, Kaka, as he was fondly called, fell madly in love with Dimple Kapadia. Mesmerised by her charm, Rajesh popped the question, and Dimple accepted. In 1973, they tied the knot, and the couple soon welcomed two beautiful daughters, Twinkle and Rinke Khanna. Dimple Kapadia was just 15 when she married Rajesh Khanna, who was nearly twice her age.

In a candid throwback chat with Rediff, Dimple Kapadia spilled the beans on a tense moment with Rajesh Khanna. She revealed that during the making of Jai Shiv Shankar, the only film they did together, Kaka scolded her for offering a suggestion and it left her shaken. “It was very nice. The film shaped up very well, but there were financial problems. One time he was not well while we were shooting and he was supposed to come out on the balcony and wave to the press. I handed him my shawl and sunglasses and told him nicely, ‘Kakaji, when you go out, don’t look straight, your side profile looks better.’ He just looked up at me and said sternly, ‘Ab tum mujhe sikhaogi?”

Dimple Kapadia and Rajesh Khanna were Bollywood’s ‘it’ couple, tying the knot in 1973 when Dimple was just 15 and Khanna was a seasoned star. Their marriage, which started on a good note, soon hit rough patches. Despite their early successes, including Dimple’s breakout role in Bobby and Rajesh Khanna’s string of hits, their relationship soured, leading to a dramatic separation in 1982. Though they never officially divorced, their split was a major media spectacle. Dimple went on to shine in films, while Rajesh Khanna remained a Bollywood icon until his death in 2012.

Rajesh Khanna, born Jatin Khanna on December 29, 1942, was Indian cinema’s first superstar. Known as Kaka, he had an incredible run of 15 solo hits from 1969 to 1971, with iconic films like Haathi Mere Saathi, Kati Patang, Anand, and more. His success and fan base were unmatched.
