For fans of Wednesday, the wait for season 2 is about to get even more thrilling and maybe a little unnerving. The beloved gothic series, helmed by Tim Burton, has just offered a sneak peek into the upcoming season, and if you thought the first one was dark, buckle up. This new season promises to be a wild ride, with more chills, a twisted storyline and a host of familiar faces returning to the eerie halls of Nevermore Academy. It’s clear from the newly released behind-the-scenes footage that we are in for a treat. This exclusive video lets fans take a look behind the curtain at the cast members as they dive headfirst into what promises to be a much grimmer season.
Some of the returning cast includes Jenna Ortega, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzman, Emma Myers and Joy Sunday. It’s a first glimpse into a world where Wednesday Addams is sharpening her knives – both literally and figuratively.
In one particularly bone-chilling shot, Ortega’s character can be seen on a set monitor holding a sharp object, ominously uttering the words, “Let’s play dolls." The video doesn’t reveal too much, but it gives off an undeniably spooky vibe, with Ortega adding a cryptic warning: “If we showed you any more, your eyes would bleed, and I’m not that generous." If you weren’t already excited, that little teaser is enough to have you bracing for what’s coming.

According to Entertainment Weekly, showrunners Al Gough and Miles Miller are just as pumped for the upcoming season. They previously expressed how “thrilled" they were that the entire Addams family would be a part of the story once again. “We have a dream cast of icons and new faces," they said, hinting that season 2 will be even bigger than the last.
What we do know is that some high-profile stars will be joining the Wednesday cast this season. The legendary Steve Buscemi will be taking on the role of Barry Dort, a new character whose appearance is already stirring excitement. Other major guest stars set to join the chilling journey include Joanna Lumley, Christopher Lloyd, Thandiwe Newton, Frances O’Connor, Heather Matarazzo, Joonas Suotamo and Haley Joel Osment.
In addition to the guest stars, a number of new series regulars have also been announced. Billie Piper, Owen Painter, Noah Taylor and Evie Templeton are all slated to join the Burton-directed project. However, not all the familiar faces from season one will be back. Percy Hynes White, Jaime McShane and Naomi J. Ogawa, who played key roles in the first season, have reportedly bid farewell to the series and won’t be appearing in season 2.
Will Wednesday uncover even more unsettling secrets at Nevermore? Will she face new enemies or confront old ones? For those who are eagerly awaiting the answers to these questions, mark your calendars. Season 2 of Wednesday is set to premiere in 2025 and if this first look is anything to go by, it will be well worth the wait.
