However, she chose to steer clear of discussing her father-in-law, Vashu Bhagnani, who has been embroiled in controversies regarding non-payment of dues in recent months. During a press interaction, while Rakul was speaking about television and OTT platforms, a reporter brought up the situation, stating, “There are reports coming in the media about Vashu sir, and a lot of people have said…” Just as the reporter was about to finish, Rakul interjected with a polite “sorry” and walked away, avoiding the topic altogether.

For those who may not be aware, Rakul Preet Singh’s father-in-law, Vashu Bhagnani, has faced accusations of non-payment from various individuals involved in the production of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff. Additionally, the film’s director, Ali Abbas Zaffar, has publicly stated that he is still awaiting his payment of ₹7.30 crore from the producer. According to a report by Dainik Bhaskar, Zaffar has even filed a complaint with the Directors’ Association, seeking their intervention in the matter.
In response to these allegations, the Federation of Western Indian Cine Employees (FWICE) issued a letter to Vashu Bhagnani, requesting an explanation regarding the non-payment of dues. Meanwhile, Vashu and Jackky Bhagnani of Pooja Entertainment have levelled serious accusations against the filmmaker of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan of syphoning the subsidy funds he took from Abu Dhabi authorities in a police complaint.
On the professional front, Rakul Preet Singh recently graced the screen in Indian 2, starring alongside Kamal Haasan and Siddharth.
