Watch: Jackie Shroff Pays Respects To Asha Bhosle At Her Book Launch Event

Legendary singer Asha Bhosle’s biography, Swaraswamini Asha, was released on Friday at an event in Mumbai. The biography is compiled with contributions from 90 authors, who have written about many facets of her life. It also includes rare photographs that trace the National Award-winning singer’s artistic journey. The book launch was attended by a number of dignitaries. Amongst them was actor Jackie Shroff. Now, a video from the event that shows the wholesome relationship between Jackie Shroff and the veteran singer has gone viral.

The video shows Asha Bhosle getting out of her car when she is greeted by Jackie Shroff. The actor immediately expresses his love and admiration for the Dadasaheb Phalke Awardee as he bows down and touches her feet. He then offers her a small potted plant, in his signature style.

Asha Bhosle’s granddaughter Zanai Bhosle, who will make her acting debut with The Pride of Bharat – Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, was seen behind them. This simple but heart-touching video was shared on Instagram. Jackie Shroff is known for gifting plants to his friends. The Andar Baahar star has often spoken about the need for planting more trees. In his peculiar style, Jackie Shroff has been seen carrying a potted plant at several public events.

During the event, Sonu Nigam paid a heartwarming tribute to Asha Bhosle by rinsing her feat with rose petals. In the video shared by ANI, Sonu Nigham is seen sitting on the floor and washing Asha Bhosle’s feat.

The note attached to the clip read, “During the biography launch of Singer Asha Bhosle, Singer Sonu Nigam washed her feet as an expression of his respect and gratitude towards her.”

Sharing another video from the event, ANI said, “RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Mumbai BJP president Ashish Shelar, Pandit Hridaynath Mangeshkar and several other personalities were present at the event.”

Asha Bhosle has crooned over 12,000 songs in her celebrated career.
