As per media reports, Gorre Puranam has recently crossed the break-even point. Produced by Praveen Reddy, the film was made with a budget of around Rs 40 lakh. In just 7 days in the theatres, it managed to recover its invested amount. Gorre Puranam recorded a worldwide box-office collection of Rs 42 lakh. The budget is yet to be announced officially by the makers.
Even though Suhas is seen as the lead actor in Gorre Puranam, his role is quite limited, which led to some dissatisfaction among viewers. The film gradually gained popularity after audiences and critics praised the story and direction style.
The storyline of the film talks about a goat, which has a voice and consciousness of its own. In search of freedom, the animal attempts to flee from a farm located in a village. As it tried to escape, the goat ended up in the house of a Muslim family who planned to sacrifice it in the name of Allah. It then manages to flee away and lands at a Hindu village, where the goat becomes the animal for sacrifice. This again forces the goat to run away from both groups. This sparks a communal conflict between the two communities. The goat then reaches a convict, who was serving a sentence in jail for murdering two men. The story then takes a unique twist as the goat becomes a topic in the prime-time news.
Alongside Suhas, the film also features actors like Vishika Kota, Raghu Karumanchi and Krishna Murali Posani. The cinematography was done by Suresh Sarangam, while the editing department was handled by Raavi Vamsi Krishna.
