New Delhi: The makers and the stars of the upcoming sequel of the 2011 film 'Tanu weds Manu' flew down to New Delhi to launch the motion poster of the much-awaited 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns'. The lead actor R Madhavan, who plays the shy and tamed Manu, while interacting with media, joked about how difficult it is for a man to deal with one wife in real life and the fact that he has to deal with two in sequel, it was almost impossible.
Talking about his experience while filming 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns', he said that the first day of shooting was one of the freakiest days for him. "I had just finished a film 'Saala Khadoos' where I play a boxing teacher. I was bulked up for that and maintained a beard as that was required for the character. I shaved the beard for this film, but Manu in the second part looks as if in four years he has become a pehlwan. Anyway, the physicality of the character was the least of it, switching into Manu was a freaky part. And the crew had a hard time because of that too," he said.
Talking about the film R Madhavan said that it was an extraordinary project as they had tried to bring in all the character's from the first film to the second part and continue the story from where it had ended. "It is a story of a married couple which is so rarely told in our industry which is also a special thing about this film," added the actor.
The actor was praised by the director Anand L Rai for his committed and consistent efforts to make the character believable, "I always told Manddy (R Madhavan) that you are Manu at heart. And how unlike other characters for which he had to change, for this role he just has to be himself," he said.
