Ladies First will be directed by Thea Sharrock, known for her notable work on movies like The Beautiful Game, Me Before You and Wicked Little Letters.

Sacha Baron Cohen and Rosamund Pike are set to star in the upcoming romantic comedy titled Ladies First which will premiere on Netflix. The film is an adaptation of the French movie Je Ne Suis Pas Un Homme Facile (translated to I Am Not an Easy Man), helmed by Eleonore Pourriat. It debuted on Netflix in 2018. Ladies First will be directed by Thea Sharrock, known for her notable work on movies like The Beautiful Game, Me Before You and Wicked Little Letters. However, the release date of Ladies First has not been announced yet.

The script of the film is penned by notable writers including Katie Silberman (Booksmart), Natalie Krinsky (The Broken Hearts Gallery) and Cinco Paul (Schmigadoon!). The story centres around Cohen’s character, a womaniser who unexpectedly finds himself in a world dominated by women. As he navigates this alternate reality, his life becomes even more complicated when he encounters a fiery female counterpart, played by Pike.

Ladies First is being produced by Liza Chasin from 3dot Productions, in collaboration with Netflix. Chasin is also behind upcoming projects such as Lonely Plane, starring Laura Dern, and The Life List, featuring Sofia Carson. Joining her in production are Eleonore Dailly, Edouard de Lachomette and Four By Two Films.

Meanwhile, Cohen will be seen alongside Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline in the Apple TV+ series Disclaimer, directed by Alfonso Cuarón. His previous collaboration with Netflix was in The Trial of the Chicago 7, where he delivered a standout performance as Abbie Hoffman, earning him an Oscar nomination. This gripping legal drama recounts the events surrounding the Chicago Seven, a group of activists charged with conspiracy during the tumultuous 1968 Democratic National Convention.

His notable films include Borat, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, Brüno, and The Dictator. Beyond comedy, he has showcased his talent in dramatic roles, appearing in films like Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Hugo and Les Misérables.

On the other hand, Pike, who has been making headlines with her recent role in Saltburn, is also set to appear in several exciting upcoming projects, including Thumblite, Now You See Me 3 and her National Theater debut, Inter Alia by Suzie Miller. Pike is acclaimed for her roles in films like Johnny English Reborn, Wrath of the Titans, Jack Reacher and Gone Girl.
