After a month-long campaign by various political parties, a significant number of eligible voters, totalling 2,88,19,342 crore, from 14 constituencies in Karnataka have commenced voting in the second phase of elections today. Notably, the electoral process in Karnataka is divided into two phases, with an additional 14 constituencies from the northern region slated to vote in the third phase, scheduled for May 7. Many Kannada film celebrities were spotted arriving in their respective polling booths to cast their vote.

Actor Prakash Raj, who has always been one of the top critics of the current government, participated in the voting process in Bengaluru. After casting his vote, he spoke to the media gathered there and said, “My vote represents my right and power to select who represents me.” He emphasised the significance of choosing a candidate, whom individuals truly believe in, highlighting his own decision is rooted in the candidate’s manifesto. Additionally, he addressed the necessity of steering clear from the divisive politics prevalent over the past decade, advocating for a more inclusive approach.

A slew of other stars were spotted arriving to vote as well. Golden star Ganesh, along with his wife Shilpa Ganesh, were seen walking into the booth early in the morning, minutes after the voting procedure started. Late actor Puneeth Rajkumar’s wife Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar and his nephew Yuva Rajkumar, whose debut film Yuva is still running in theatres, came to vote, separately though. Raghavendra Rajkumar also came and voted with his children. He came and voted in the morning and then spoke to the media. Vinay Rajkumar was seen entering the polling booth with his father and brother. Former actress Amulya, who has appeared in movies like Cheluvina Chittara and actress Sapthami Gowda of Kantara fame also came and cast their votes in the early hours.

In the current phase 2, constituencies that are voting include Udupi-Chikmagalur, Dakshina Kannada, Chitradurga, Tumkur, Mysore, Chamarajanagar, Bangalore Rural, Bangalore North, Bangalore Central, Bangalore South, Hassan, Mandya, Kolar and Chikkballapur.
