Bollywood actor, director and comedian Neeraj Vora, best known for writing the script of the 2000 blockbuster Hera Pheri and directing its sequel Phir Hera Pheri in 2006, died early Thursday morning. He was 54.
Vora breathed his last at 4am in Juhu's Criti Care hospital. The actor was in coma from the past one year after reportedly suffering a brain stroke in October 2016.
“He will be taken to Mr. Firoz Nadiadwala’s house BARKAT, from where he will be taken to the Santacruz Electric Crematorium at 3pm,” Vora’s family told reporters.
Veteran star Paresh Rawal, who worked with Vora in Hera Pheri film series, mourned the loss of the actor and bid a fond farewell to him on social media.
"Neeraj Vora - The writer and director of Phir Hera Pheri and many hit films is no more... Aum Shanti. (sic)," he wrote.

Vora, who was set to direct the third installment in the hit Hera Pheri franchise, began his film journey as an actor in 1984. His first film was Holi by Ketan Mehta. He then went on to work on TV shows Choti Badi Baatien and Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Circus.
He also starred in films, such as Rangeela, which was also his debut as a writer, Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, Mann and Virasat. He last appeared in Anil Kapoor-John Abraham starrer Welcome Back, which released in 2015.
