Vijay Yesudas cemented his place as a singer in the entertainment industry by singing tracks in the films RRR, Joesph and others. He has also entertained the audience as an actor, especially with his film Maari. Vijay, however, had to go through a rough patch this year after he got divorced from his wife Darshana. He talked about it in an interaction with the YouTube channel named I AM with Dhanya Varma.
According to Vijay, his children and his ex-wife Darshana support him in every decision. According to him, it is his parents who need time to understand his decision to divorce. As per the Maari actor, it is a painful phase for his parents and they require more time to accept the separation decision from his wife. According to Vijay, one cannot cover up these things to any extent when they are a celebrity. The actor added that his 15-year-old daughter Ammeya understands everything maturely and supports him. However, his 9-year-old son Avyan can’t understand these things and asks him certain questions.
In an interview, he spoke about his life post-divorce. When asked how he deals with the trauma, the Maari actor responded, “I don’t have time to feel any trauma. I feel more responsible rather than a victim. I think my family has gone through a lot of hurt. I have to live with that too."
Vijay met his wife Darshana at a music concert held in Dubai on 2002 Valentine’s Day. After five years of dating, he married Darshana in 2007 at Trivandrum. In 2017, there were rumours that the couple was going to part ways. However, at that time, she had denied the speculations and said that they were not thinking of splitting up.
Vijay Yesudas last played Major Kishore’s role in the film Class by a Soldier directed by Chinmayi Nair. This film stars Meenakshi, Kalabhavan Shajohn and Sudheer Sukumaran in the important roles. Class by a Soldier was released at the cinemas on November 24, 2023, and received positive reviews from the audience.
