Liam Payne's Ex Maya Henry Gets Hate Comments After One Direction Star's Death: 'Are You Happy Now?'

Liam Payne’s ex Maya Henry has been receiving hate comments on her latest Instagram post after the One Direction star tragically passed away on October 16. Payne died after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires. Local police confirmed the incident occurred at a hotel on Costa Rica Street in Palermo.

Soon after the news about his death broke, Liam Payne’s fans flooded Henry’s comment section with hate comments. The two had been in a tumultuous relationship, marked by claims of obsessive contact that Henry recently made public.

Days before Liam’s death, Henry, 23, had reportedly issued a cease-and-desist letter to him after she alleged he repeatedly contacted her, according to the Daily Mail.

One fan wrote, “Are you happy now? Liam didn’t deserve this ending.” Another one said, “It’s all your fault.” “Wow a man is now dead. BE KIND ALWAYS, remove all your disgusting tik toks you’ve won. He’s gone. RIP,” a third user said.

However, a section of netizens came out in Henry’s support and requested her to turn off her comment section. “Maya, I am sorry that everybody is blaming you for talking about what you went through please don’t let them bring you down you have every right to speak on it.” Another one said, “People blaming her for Liam’s death is so stupid. victims are allowed to tell their stories, she couldn’t have foreseen this death happening. You all need to grow up.”

The former couple was reportedly engaged before ending their relationship in 2022, according to the Daily Mail. In a TikTok posted on October 6, Maya Henry, a Texas-based model and author of Looking Forward, claimed that her ex, whom she doesn’t explicitly name but connects to “One Direction fans”, continues to bombard her with messages.

“It’s always from different phone numbers, so I never know when or where it’s coming from. He even emails me,” Henry said. “He doesn’t just reach out to me; he also bombards my mom’s phone. Is that normal behaviour?”

“He’s also messaged my friends,” she added. “I found out later that they went over to his house.”

Henry further alleged that Payne “weaponised” One Direction fans against her, stating, “He claims that he ‘preys on One Direction fans because they will always be loyal to him and won’t tell on him.'”

Liam Payne was dating model Kate Cassidy at the time of his death. He was previously with Cheryl. They welcomed their son, named Bear, in 2017.
