John Abraham Reveals He Asked Shah Rukh Khan For A Motorcycle After Pathaan's Success: 'Unhone Bola...'
Shah Rukh Khan had a special gift for John Abraham after the Vedaa actor had to miss Pathaan's success party.

John Abraham’s last film, Pathaan, was a mega success when it was released in theatres. John played the villain, Jim, against Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan. The film also starred Deepika Padukone in a prominent role. After the film’s super success, the cast and crew of the film celebrated with a special success party. However, John, who sleeps early, wanted to give it a miss. Hence, Shah Rukh had a special gift for him.

“My last film Pathaan was with him. I remember there was a success party after the film’s release, and Shah Rukh was like, ‘Come on John, let’s party! Apni picture chal rahi hai. Achha opening mila hai. Maine bola nahi mujhe sona hai. ‘Kya, sona hai?’ ‘Han, mujhe sona hai.’ Toh unhone bola kya chahiye tumhe? Maine bola ek motorcycle de do bas. Toh unhone mujhe motorcycle gift ki. Main khush ho ke gaya ghar. (Our film is doing well. It’s got a good opening. I said no, I’ve to sleep. ‘What, you’ve to sleep?’ ‘Yes, I’ve to sleep.’ So he asked me, ‘What do you want?’ I said just gift me a motorcycle. So he gifted me one. I went home happy),” John recalled on Zakir Khan’s TV show.

Meanwhile, John Abraham is currently seen in Vedaa. Inspired by true and harrowing events, Vedaa delves into the dark and brutal world of caste-based violence and social discrimination. Drawing from the tragic stories of Manoj-Babli, victims of a heinous honour killing, and Meenakshi Kumari, who was subjected to a barbaric punishment by an all-male village council, the film centres on three key characters caught in the storm of societal injustice.

News18 Showsha gave the film 3/5 stars. Our review of the film read, “On the acting front, Sharvari Wagh delivers a standout performance, showcasing a remarkable range that surprises and captivates. Whether portraying fierce determination, fear, or confusion, Sharvari handles each emotion with finesse, never compromising her craft. Her ability to transition seamlessly between different states of mind adds depth to her character and solidifies her presence on screen.”

The review mentioned, “Vedaa may lean on the familiar good versus evil narrative, which could feel clichéd at times, but it succeeds in drawing you into its powerful message against caste-based discrimination and oppression. Through the perspective of a woman determined to challenge a corrupt and malevolent system, the film explores the deeply entrenched injustices that plague society.”

“Despite its flaws, Vedaa remains an entertaining and thought-provoking watch, effectively engaging the audience with its strong themes and compelling storyline. While the climax may not fully measure up to the film’s potential when compared to others in the genre, the journey it takes you on is undeniably gripping, making Vedaa a worthwhile experience,” the review also read.
