GOT7 member Jinyoung is set to be discharged from military service this November, and fans can hardly contain their excitement to see him return to the screen. He is currently in discussions to join the cast of the upcoming K-drama Unknown Seoul, where he will share the spotlight with talented actress Park Bo Young, who will intriguingly portray a double role. Following the buzz on social media, Jinyoung’s agency, BH Entertainment, confirmed that he is reviewing the offer and will provide updates soon. He is scheduled to complete his 18-month military duty on November 7, 2024, and fans are eagerly anticipating his comeback.
If Jinyoung accepts the role in Unknown Seoul, it will mark his first project following his military service. His agency, BH Entertainment, confirmed to Newsen, “Park Jin-young has received an offer to appear in Unknown Seoul and is positively reviewing it.”
Jinyoung made his acting debut in the 2012 drama Dream High 2 and has since starred in several popular films and series, including The Devil Judge, Yumi’s Cells, He Is Psychometric, When My Love Blooms, Christmas Carol and The Legend of the Blue Sea. Alongside his acting career, he has remained an active member of GOT7, earning a dedicated fanbase worldwide.
According to Soompi, Unknown Seoul is penned by Lee Kang and directed by Park Shin-woo, known for hit series such as Don’t Dare to Dream and It’s Okay to Not Be Okay. Interestingly, Park Shin-woo is also working on another romantic project titled Ask the Stars, featuring renowned stars Gong Hyo-jin and Lee Min-ho. Currently, more details about the cast of Unknown Seoul are being kept under wraps.
The series focuses on twin sisters whose lives take unexpected turns when they find love. Park Bo Young is set to play twin sisters. If Jinyoung confirms his role, he will play Ho Su, a character who has been in a relationship with Mi Ji, one of the twins, since their school days.
While Jinyoung is set to be discharged from military service on November 7, recent reports indicate that NCT member Jaehyun will begin his mandatory military service on November 4.
