Huge Victory for Actor Vishal, Madras HC Orders De-sealing of Producers' Council Office

Chennai: The Madras High Court has ordered to de-seal of Tamil Nadu Producers' Council (TNFPC) office and condemned the police action against actor and President of the TFPC Vishal, who was detained by the Chennai police here for trying to break into the TNFPC office which was locked by one faction of the members.

The court observed that the solution to this issue should have been done in a legal manner. The court also directed that all the account books be kept in a locked room in the presence of Deputy Registrar Cooperatives.

​The petition was filed by Tamil Nadu Producers'Council Executive Committee member M Anbudarai. In the peititon, the petitioner sought police protection for the smooth functioning of the Council.

High drama erupted at the offices of the Tamil Nadu Film Producers’ Council on Thursday when actor Vishal and TN police engaged in a war of words. Vishal was detained by the police for over 8 hours. This came a day after a group of around 300 film producers who belong to the rival faction of the producers' council locked the offices demanding council president Vishal’s resignation. The group of producers alleged that Vishal was involved in a lot of criminal activities including misappropriation of funds and demanded that he hand over the accounts of the council and resign.

Actor Vishal also took to Twitter after he was released and said, "Finally out after 8 hours of detention. Suffering for no fault of mine, very disturbed that I was not let to enter my own office, no action against people who illegally locked the gates and doors of the same office. Totally unfair. I believe in our Judicial system and I hope I get justice for what's happened today. I will work for the welfare of Producers in distress and will fulfill the promises we gave while getting elected."
