Game of Thrones Season 8: Watch Sansa Stark Surrender Winterfell to Daenerys Targaryen in New Clip
HBO has released new footage of its upcoming shows, including Game of Thrones’ series finale. Watch it here.

Teasing fans worldwide ever since Game of Thrones season seven’s finale aired in 2017, HBO released the blockbuster show’s final season’s first footage on Monday.

Though it is an amalgamation of all that HBO has in store for viewers in 2019 with glimpses of the new seasons of its several popular shows, including Big Little Lies, Veep, True Detective, Watchmen and Euphoria, what remarkably stands out is Game of Thrones’ footage.

In the clip, we see Sansa Stark, who was overseeing Winterfell in Jon Snow’s absence, begrudgingly surrender her family home to Daenerys Targaryen as she arrives at the castle accompanied by Jon, Brienne of Tarth and Ser Jorah Mormont. “Winterfell is yours, your grace," Sansa tells Daenerys with an opaque face as Jon looks on, unsure.

In another bit, we see the Night King riding dragon Viserion, who he revived from the dead and made a zombie in season seven’s finale episode.

Starring Emilia Clarke, Kit Harington, Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Lena Headey, who will reprise their roles from the previous seasons, the new—and the final—season is slated to air in April 2019. It has taken David Benioff, DB Weiss and the rest of the team two years to make season 8, which will have six 1.5-hour-long action-packed episodes, featuring the biggest war, the one between the living and the dead, now that winter has finally come.
