Many movie stars who have made it big in cinema began their career in television and then made a successful transition to the big screen. Bollywood’s undisputed Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan started his career with television. In recent times, Yami Gautam is one of those talented breed of performers who made the leap of faith from TV to cinema. These days, Yami Gautam is proving her acting prowess in theatrical as well as OTT releases. She was last seen on OTT alongside Pankaj Kapur in Lost where her performance was appreciated. Her last theatrical release was OMG 2 where she acted alongside Pankaj Tripathi.
Yami Gautam relocated to Mumbai at the age of 20 to pursue an entertainment career. Her first television appearance was in Chand Ke Paar Chalo. She carried on as Raajkumar Aaryyan’s lead actress. After this, she starred in Yeh Pyar Na Hoga Kam, a serial on Colors that became her most well-known television role. She has also appeared in the first season of Kitchen Champion and Meethi Choori No 1.

Following her starring role in the 2009 Kannada film Ullasa Utsaha, Yami made her Bollywood debut in the romantic comedy Vicky Donor, directed by Shoojit Sircar. She surprised everyone by marrying director Aditya Dhar in June 2021. The news came as a pleasant surprise to fans as both had been dating for 2 years before the marriage but they managed to keep their relationship under wraps.
In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Yami once said that her relationship with Aditya began while working on Uri: The Surgical Strike together. Aditya had directed the film while Yami starred in it. Both of them had decided to get married after the end of the Corona pandemic. They married in Himachal in 2021.
Yami Gautam will soon be seen in the upcoming Article 370 which is directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale.
