The Lucknow police have registered an FIR against the participants of the controversial 'AIB Roast' show, including Bollywood director Karan Johar and actors Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor.

According to the complaint filed by Kailash Chandra Pandey, a Lucknow-based activist, the spread of the controversial video, which went viral on social media, has 'vulgar' content and goes 'against Indian culture'.

A case under section 294 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) (for obscene acts or words in public) and section 66 of the IT Act (for sending offensive messages through communication service, etc.) has been filed against the three celebrities based on complaint filed with additional chief judical magistrate (ACJM-1) Suchi Srivastava.

Pandey, who is convener of social outfit Rashtriya Shahari Vikas Samiti, alleged that the content (of the video) was 'extremely ridiculous and vulgar'. He said that he watched the video when he found his nine-year-old son viewed it on a cell phone after it was downloaded from YouTube.

"It is shocking for me to find my nine-year-old kid watching such a video. We should discourage circulating this stuff, or else it would have adverse effect on our culture," he said.
