Popular director Omar Lulu has been in the headlines for quite some time after he was arrested for allegedly raping an actress. In a recent development, the hearing on the anticipatory bail of the director was reportedly postponed by the court. Justice CS Dias postponed the hearing to August 2. As per reports, the actress pleaded to reject his bail.
In her plea, the complainant accused Lulu of sexual exploitation on the pretext of marriage while hiding his existing marriage. She further mentioned that Lulu also promised her a role in his upcoming film. The complainant reportedly was called to a hotel for some discussions regarding the film when she was sexually assaulted. She stated in her statement that the director mixed a drug named MDMA and raped her.
The plea registered against Lulu also stated that he was addicted to drugs. According to reports, the initial case was registered at the Palarivattom Police Station. The case was later transferred to the Nedumbassery Police Station on the orders of the commissioner of the police.
Adding to it, she further alleged that some close friends of Lulu have been threatening her to settle the case privately outside the court. This accusation involves Omar Lulu’s driver Nasil Ali and his friend Azad, among others. The actress also claimed that she has multiple pieces of evidence on her mobile phone to prove her claims. She also agreed to present the evidence before the court.
The complainant further argued that Omar Lulu holds significant influence to threaten the witnesses and tamper with the evidence if he is granted bail. She also requested the court to take Lulu into custody for further questioning. It should be noted that earlier the court granted interim bail to the accused. On the other hand, Lulu claimed in his bail plea that the actress has been living with him in his apartment since the year 2022. He further claimed that the relationship was consensual
