Actress Chum Darang, known for Badhaai Do and Gangubai Kathiawadi, is now a contestant on Bigg Boss 18. In Monday’s episode, she had a confrontation with Shehzada Dhami after he made a discriminatory remark. Before joining the show, Chum revealed in an interview that she has anger issues and talked about working with Alia Bhatt in Gangubai Kathiawadi.
Chum joined Bigg Boss to gain more recognition. Talking about her reason for choosing the Colors reality show, she said, “It’s a very big platform. People from all age groups watch BB, and that is why I wanted to be a part of it. I have done so much work but people still don’t know me. I want them to know about me, where I come from, etc. I come from the beautiful state of Arunachal Pradesh. If I do well inside the house, they will learn more about me. That is my goal.”
Chum Darang said she has a lot of respect for Alia Bhatt after working with her on Gangubai Kathiawadi. Praising Alia, Chum mentioned, “We worked together. There were other 9 girls with me, so we didn’t get time to interact much. But I like Alia’s work. She is very hardworking. She puts everything into something that she is doing. That was impressive to watch. I like and respect Alia as an actor.”
Chum has two web series lined up, and one might be released while she’s on Bigg Boss 18. The other is currently being filmed. She isn’t worried about getting new projects, joking that if she stops working, she’ll just go home and farm instead.
Bigg Boss 18 kicked off on Sunday with 18 contestants, including actors like Vivian Dsena, Nyrra Banerjee, and Muskan Bamne, alongside internet sensations such as Hema Sharma, also known as ‘Viral Bhabhi’. With its “Time ka Taandav” theme, the season is already off to a fiery start, promising plenty of drama and entertainment.
