Pop sensation Beyoncé is known for her amazing songs. The 32-time Grammy Award-winning musician recently captivated the fans with her new album Cowboy Carter which also featured her interpretation of the song Blackbird, released in 1968, from the popular rock band The Beatles. It has now been learned that the cover version that Beyoncé recorded, titled Blackbiird, includes acoustic guitar and foot tapping by Paul McCartney, taken from the song’s original backing track, Variety has confirmed.

The credits of the album Cowboy Carter had no mention of the backing track being taken from The Beatles’s 56-year-old song. However, McCartney has been mentioned as playing the guitar on the song in the credits (Credits for the album were not shared until after the album’s official release on March 29). He is also listed as one of the producers of a new track, there is no mention in the text that his work on the track was not newly recorded.

McCartney himself composed and recorded the song in 1968 for The Beatles’ self-titled double –LP, also known as The White Album, leaving the other members of the group to sit it out as he himself played the acoustic guitar and rhythmic foot tapping, which could be heard in Beyonce’s new version. Although, the song also credits John Lennon, like most of the earlier Lennon-McCartney songs.

However, McCartney has still not commented on Beyonce’s cover version of his signature song. He stated that he wrote the song Blackbird in reaction to the American Civil Rights Movement, which was at its peak at that time, and linked it with Black women especially. Keeping that theme alive, the 32-times-Grammy-winning singer’s version credits four black women who work in the music industry for extra harmony vocals Reyna Roberts, Tiera Kennedy, Brittney Spencer and Tanner Adell.

The one thing that’s missing from Beyoncé’s version that appeared on The White Album’s track is Bird Noises. However, this is not the first time the makers have approved the usage of Blackbiird track in other artists’ songs. Earlier in 2019, Rachel Fuller remixed the original The Beatles track with new portions He did it with permission of McCartney.

Apart from this, Beyoncé’s album also includes songs like Ameriican Requiem, 16 Carriages, Bodyguard, My Rose, Texas Hold ‘Em, Dolly P, and Protector.
