With the onset of Eid, Bollywood, anticipating one of its biggest films of the year, was received with a surprise when Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan proved to be a disaster for the cinegoers.

In Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Akshay Kumar plays the role of Captain Firoz aka Freddy and Tiger Shroff plays Captain Rakesh aka Rocky. Prithviraj Sukumaran plays the role of the villain Kabir. The action entertainer also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chhillar and Alaya F in pivotal roles.

On Friday, the second day, the film collected Rs 7.6 crore and even more on Saturday and Sunday at Rs 8.5 crore and Rs 9 crore respectively. For those who don’t know, Ajay Devgn-starrer Maidaan is opening at the box office at a lower rate than Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Akshay and Ajay have been at loggerheads at the box office for a long time and BMCM is making life difficult for Maidaan. Talking about the conflict between BMCM and Maidaan, Ajay said that there is none. According to him, there are situations where two films are released simultaneously due to commitments.

Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is a remake of the 1998 hit film of the same name. The film was directed by David Dhawan and starred Govinda and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead roles.
