Actor Chandrachur Singh turned 56 today. He is one of those actors who gained prominence in his acting debut in 1996 with the film Maachis directed by Gulzar. He then showed his acting prowess in the film Tere Mere Sapne, backed by Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited and other films like Josh with Shah Rukh Khan. In an unfortunate turn, his career suffered a setback with a serious injury. As per the reports, he injured his shoulder due to an accident while water skiing in Goa. That pain lasted for a long time and hindered his Bollywood career. It took time for the pain to recover despite many measures like physiotherapy and surgery. Due to this, Chandrachud stayed away from the spotlight for a long time.
In an interview with a portal, he revealed more about this accident. According to the Maachis actor, he was water skiing in Goa and missed his grip. He said the speedboat was moving at a high speed and the enormous force pulled his right hand out of the shoulder joint. Fortunately, his hand did not get torn off his body. It is because when Chandrachur fell on the water’s surface, his right hand was just hanging by the muscle and skin.
After this, the 56-year-old actor said that getting work became quite difficult and his health got worse. Due to this, he never felt like saying yes to acting in any project. He also could not exercise and keep himself fit. Since he did not want to take risks with his shoulder, he had to let go of many movies. However, after his recovery, he made an impressive comeback with the web series Aarya, headlined by the actress Sushmita Sen. He played the role of her husband, Tej Sareen, in this series receiving accolades from the critics and the audience.
Besides acting, Chandrachur is considered to be one of the most educated stars of Bollywood. He once aimed to become an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Officer. He left his Union Public Commission Service (UPSC) preparation mid-way to try out his luck in the world of acting.
He last acted in the film Cuttputlli.
