Arijit Singh has announced a postponement of his highly anticipated UK tour, originally slated to begin on August 11. The beloved playback singer revealed on Instagram that unforeseen medical circumstances have forced him to take this step. Singh expressed his deep regret and disappointment over the delay in a heartfelt message to his fans.
In his Instagram note, Singh wrote, “Dear Fans, It pains me to share that unforeseen medical circumstances have forced me to postpone our August concerts. I know how eagerly you were awaiting these shows, and I’m truly sorry for the disappointment.” He continued, “Your love and support are my strength. Let’s turn this pause into a promise of an even more magical reunion.”
The new tour dates are set for September 15 in London, September 16 in Birmingham, September 19 in Rotterdam, and September 22 in Manchester. All tickets purchased for the original dates will remain valid. Singh thanked his fans for their understanding and patience, assuring them that he is looking forward to creating unforgettable memories together.
The announcement led to an outpouring of support from fans, who flooded Singh’s comments with messages of encouragement and wishes for a speedy recovery. The singer was scheduled to make history as the first South Asian artist to perform at Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena, adding to the disappointment of the postponed shows.
In other news, the Bombay High Court has granted a significant relief to Arijit Singh. On July 26, Justice R I Chagla issued an interim order restraining eight online platforms from using Singh’s personality rights without consent. The court’s decision was a response to Singh’s petition against unauthorized use of his voice, image, and other attributes by AI tools. The ruling prohibits the generation of content through such AI tools and mandates the removal of existing content and voice conversion tools, protecting Singh’s rights and setting a precedent for the protection of celebrities’ digital personas.
