Stree 2 actor Aparshakti Khurana opened up about a shocking power play in Bollywood in a recent interview. Without taking names, Aparshakti, who is actor Ayushmann Khurrana’s brother, revealed that a lead actor from one of his films told the producers to keep him off the stage at the trailer launch. Aparshakti, who had an amazing time on set with the cast and crew, was surprised by this snub on such a big day.
“We all saw the film—which had turned out very well—before the trailer launch. We all liked the film, but on the day of the trailer launch, the actor told the producer three minutes before, that Aparshakti shouldn’t be on the stage, you can call all the other actors,” he said.
Aparshakti Khurana shared how he flew in from Amritsar, where he was shooting, specifically to attend the film’s trailer launch in Mumbai, only to be publicly snubbed by the lead actor in front of everyone. “I was all dressed up, I like doing that, and I stood right near the aisle. Someone from the PR team informed me that some ‘last minute changes’ are there and I will be introduced separately. I kept waiting, the entire trailer launch got over, people left. I’ve reached a stage where I can least have a say,” he recalled.
Meanwhile, the actor has been dominating headlines courtesy his comment on the alleged PR game that he thinks has left fuelled the credit war at the centre of Stree 2. After Stree 2 hit a huge Rs 60 crore in India, fans of Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao started arguing over who deserved more credit for the film’s success. Things heated up when Aparshakti Khurana made a comment that caught everyone’s attention. In an interview with Zoom, Aparshakti hinted at the drama, saying, “If I comment on this, it will go far,” but it was his remark calling Shraddha’s credit a “PR Game” that really fueled the fire.
