Angelina Jolie has been away from work for a while now. Her last on-screen appearance was in the 2021 Marvel film Eternals. As for direction, the 2017 film, First They Killed My Father, marked her last venture. In an exciting development, she is now set to make a comeback as an actor and a writer-director with films Maria and Without Blood, respectively. She has spilled beans on her plans to move out of Los Angeles.
Angelina was talking to the Hollywood Reporter when she shared the reason behind her long break from work. The mother of six – Maddox (23), Pax (20), Zahara (19), Shiloh (18), and her twins Vivienne and Knox (16), Angelina noted that she “needed to be home more” with her kids. Divulging that she will spend most of her time outside LA after her kids turn 18, the actress said, “I grew up in this town. I am here because I have to be here from a divorce, but as soon as they’re 18, I’ll be able to leave. When you have a big family, you want them to have privacy, peace, and safety.”
“I’ll spend a lot of time in Cambodia. I’ll spend time visiting my family members wherever they may be,” added Angelina Jolie.
Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt in 2016 and is still negotiating their settlement.
Speaking of her upcoming film Maria, the biopic based on Greek-American opera singer Maria Callas is directed by Pablo Larrain. The flick will be released on Netflix in the US. As for her directorial venture Without Blood, it will be premiered at the Toronto Film Festival.
What adds to the hype is that the actress will also be honoured with a tribute award at the same festival. Meanwhile, Without Blood is based on Alessandro Baricco’s 2002 novel of the same name.
