After More Than A Decade In Industry, This Actress Delivered Her First Blockbuster In 2023

Success is something you have to be patient for and it will eventually knock on your door. Something similar happened with actress Adah Sharma, as she finally got the taste of success through the blockbuster hit, The Kerala Story, after being in the industry for more than a decade.

Adah Sharma is currently basking in the success of the OTT release of The Kerala Story which premiered on ZEE5, recently. The film, despite being laden with several controversies, became a huge hit in the country, becoming one of the biggest releases at the box office. Through its success, Adah Sharma entered the list of some of the top actresses in Bollywood.

The actress started her career with the horror film 1920, released in 2008. It was directed as well as written by Vikram Bhatt. Adah Sharma shared the screen space with Rajneesh Duggal. The film proved to be a hit and Adah was nominated for a Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.

In 2014, she was seen in the film Hasee Toh Phasee, which starred Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra as the lead. Adah Sharma was seen in the supporting role of Karishma Solanki in this Vinil Mathew directorial. The film became a moderately successful release at the box office. The same year she debuted in the South Indian film industry Heart Attack. In the following years, she went on to star in superhit South Indian films like S/O Satyamurthy, Rana Vikrama, Subramanyam for Sale and many more.

Fast forward to 2023, Adah Sharma featured in the Sudipto Sen directorial drama film The Kerala Story. The cast of the film included Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani, and Siddhi Idnani. It was produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah under the banner of Sunshine Pictures. Upon its release, the film was thrown into numerous controversies and faced a lot of backlash. Despite that, it emerged as a major commercial success, becoming one of the biggest Bollywood releases of the year. The film was able to collect more than Rs 303 crore at the box office. The film is available for online streaming on ZEE5 from February 16, 2024.
