Actor Ganesh Kishan On Krishnam Pranaya Sakh: 'Amazed By Audience's Reaction'

The first half of 2024 saw a relatively muted response to several major Kannada films, with only a few successes like Kaatera, featuring Darshan and Chikkanna’s Upadhyaksha. Following this, many films struggled with limited showings and declining theatre audiences. However, after several months, the industry began to recover with the success of Bheema and now Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi.

Starring ‘Golden Star’ Ganesh Kishan alongside Malavika Nair and Sharanya Shetty, the film was released across Karnataka on August 15. It is anticipated to generate over Rs 6 crore from its Wednesday premiere through Sunday. Despite facing tough competition from more than 11 other films, Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi has seen strong ticket sales on BookMyShow within the state.

Golden Star Ganesh, celebrating the film’s success, is delighted with the positive reception. During the successful meeting, he expressed his gratitude: “I am thankful to the Kannada audience for their immense love and support for Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi. Even before the film’s release, the songs were already superhits. Though I rarely visit theatres, I made an exception for this film and was amazed by the audience’s reaction.” As he said, he has not even visited the theatre for the last 10 years.

Acknowledging how box office collection numbers are often manipulated, Ganesh said, ”We will give you the correct numbers about the collection of Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi. We don’t like to fool ourselves by saying big numbers. That’s why after another two weeks we will tell you the correct numbers of the collection.” Ganesh will also tour the state of Karnataka celebrating the success of the film. The tour is scheduled to be held sometime next week.

Produced by Prashanth G Rudrappa and distributed by KVN Productions, Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi is set to be released internationally beginning September 1, with confirmed screenings in Dubai, Australia and the USA. The film features a diverse ensemble cast including Rangayana Raghu, Sadhu Kokila, Ramakrishna, Ashok, Shurthi, and Shashikumar.
