59th Maharashtra State Film Awards: Asha Parekh, Shivaji Satam Get Lifetime Achievement Award
The 59th Maharashtra State Film Awards ceremony happened at Dome SVP Stadium, Worli, in Mumbai and was attended by CM Eknath Shinde.

The Maharashtra government on August 21, honoured several personalities from the Indian television and film fraternity with the 58th and 59th Maharashtra State Film Awards. The list has illustrious names from the respective industries, which included Asha Parekh and Shivaji Satyam.

Regarded as one of the most influential and successful actresses of yesteryear Bollywood, Asha Parekh was given the Late Raj Kapoor Lifetime Achievement Award. Shivaji Satam, popularly known as ACP Pradyuman from the superhit show CID, was bestowed with the Chitrapti V Shantaram Lifetime Achievement Award.

Furthermore, the Chitrapati V Shantaram Special Contribution Award was received by filmmaker-actor Digpal Lanjekar. The Late Raj Kapoor Special Contribution Award was given to N Chandra, which celebrated his contribution to Indian cinema. The Lata Mangeshkar Award was presented to veteran singer Anuradha Paudwal. While actress Rohini Hattangadi and singer Sudesh Bhosle, also received honours at the event for their contributions to films and music, as per more reports.

The event happened at Dome SVP Stadium, Worli, in Mumbai. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and the Deputy CMs Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar graced the occasion with their presence. It was also attended by Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar, Sudhir Mungantiwar the cultural affairs minister, education minister Deepak Kesarkar and Mangal Prabhat Lodha, who is the minister of skills, employment, entrepreneurship and innovation. Going by more reports, the Rajya Sabha members Milind Deora and Imran Pratapgarhi were also seen at the event. Members of Parliament Arvind Sawant and Anil Desai were present as well. Legislative Council Members and MLAs were in attendance as well.

A cash prize of Rs 10 lakh was given to the late Raj Kapoor Lifetime Achievement Awardee. Rs 6 lakh was to be given to the Late Raj Kapoor Special Contribution Awardee.
