Popular South Korean singer, songwriter, and actor, Hwang Min Hyun, also known as Minhyun, is currently grabbing headlines for his latest appearance. The talented artist, known for his roles in K-dramas like My Lovely Liar, Live On, and Alchemy of Souls, has sent his fans into a frenzy with his military graduation ceremony photos. Min Hyun enlisted for mandatory military service in March 2024. The videos and photos, capturing moments from his graduation after completing a three-week basic training program, show Min Hyun’s confident and handsome appearance in his military uniform.

Fans and netizens alike have been quick to praise Min Hyun’s suave looks, with some even speculating if his appearance hints at a future role reminiscent of the characters in the widely acclaimed series Descendants of the Sun, which revolved around the lives of soldiers deployed abroad.

In one of the videos, he can be seen smiling as he is warmly greeted by his loved ones during the ceremony.

LEDIS Entertainment, Min Hyun’s agency, announced his enlistment in February saying, “We wish to share the news of Hwang Min-hyun’s upcoming enlistment into the military, scheduled for March 21, 2024,” reports Naver Entertainment.

They had also informed that there would be no official event on the day of his enlistment. They requested his fans to refrain from attending the entrance ceremony or visiting the site of his alternative military service, opting instead to send their heartwarming messages of support for Hwang Minhyun through Weverse. They also asked for the artist’s fans got continue to love and support him.

“Kindly send your best wishes for his safe and healthy return. We will stay committed to providing Hwang Min-hyun with all the necessary support during this time. Thank you,” his label added.

Hwang Min-hyun, 28, debuted with NU’EST on March 15, 2012, after two years of training. Before his debut, he appeared in music videos for Hello Venus’s Venus, Orange Caramel’s Shanghai Romance, and A.S. Blue’s Wonder Boy. He is expected to complete his military service and get a discharge in December 2025.
