Youth run over, mob sets PCR van on fire

BHUBANESWAR: Death of a youth in a road mishap late on Sunday took a fiery turn when irate villagers of Adasala under Chandaka Police limits on the outskirts of the City torched a PCR van.  Manoj, in his mid-twenties, was crossing the road at Adasala Chhak when a speeding truck hit him. The critically-injured youth was lying in a pool of blood on the road as no passing vehicle agreed to take him to hospital. Later, the incident was reported to police.  The youth succumbed to his injuries by the time the PCR van reached the spot. Enraged over the delay in police response, the irate mob set the PCR van afire. Tension was prevailing in the area till last reports came in. The truck, however, sped away after the accident.
