KOCHI: The eager gathering of management students, a few budding entrepreneurs and media personnel, at the 14th edition of the DC International Book Fest on Tuesday, stood up and looked on in awe as he walked in.N R Narayana Murthy, the founder of information technology giant Infosys, was in Kochi on Tuesday in connection with the release of the Malayalam translation of his bestseller A Better India, A Better World.Encouraging entrepreneurship is the key to eradicating poverty in India, he said while interacting with the youth on the occasion.“There are four major points for an entrepreneur to succeed.First, there has to be an idea the value of which can be expressed in a simple sentence to the consumer and the market.Second, the market must be ready to accept the idea.Third, the entrepreneur must put together a team that is mutually-exclusively and collectively-exhaustive.Finally, be ready to sacrifice today in order to benefit tomorrow.If all of these are set, finance will follow,” added Narayana Murthy.“We are at an extraordinary moment in the history of India.Never before in the last 300 years did India evoke such interest among the comity of nations and the world expect so much of India.And, never before during the last 300 years were Indians seen as people who could build the software infrastructure for the most advanced corporations of the world,” he noted.To ensure that every Indian received the benefits of the progress and the poorest of the child in the remotest part of the country received access to basic education, health care, nutrition and shelter, youngsters will have to work hard, be disciplined and demonstrate honesty, integrity and fairness to fellow citizens,” Narayana Murthy added.He said it was the duty of the elders, the government and the corporate leaders to create an environment that would enhance the level of enthusiasm and confidence in youngsters.Jose Dominic, chairman, CII Kerala Chapter, released the translation of the book by handing over the first copy to Murthy.DC Books CEO Ravi Deecee was present
