The blaze was reported at the road asphalt quality control unit.

On being asked about the damage to materials, the BBMP chief told PTI that it will be known later.
“We are not focusing on what is burnt there. It will be known later,” Giri Nath said.
While the cause of the fire will be ascertained after the investigation, reportedly the fire broke out due to a conflagration in a chemical.
The incident occurred days after the Karnataka government ordered a judicial inquiry into the alleged irregularities that took place in the BBMP during the previous BJP government.
Apart from the judicial probe, Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, who holds the Bengaluru Development portfolio, formed four panels headed by IAS officers to investigate the alleged irregularities in the civic agency.
Meanwhile, Karnataka minister KJ George said that the CM and Deputy CM are closely monitoring the situation and have instructed that all possible help is provided to the victims and the civic agency.
“The CM & Deputy CM has given us directions to extend all the required help. We are giving priority to the treatment of the patients…Till the investigation is complete we should not come to any conclusion. Doctors are doing everything possible & I appreciate their efforts,” the minister said.
